January 12,2012

Our Missionary call came. We will be going to Illoinis Nauvoo Mission. This is an area we have always dreamed of going. We will be full-time missionaries assigned to the Visitor Center. As missionaries we will proclaim the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to help build his kingdom on earth. We will be reporting to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo Utah on the 5th of March. Spend 8 days in training and then report to Nauvoo Illoinis on the 16th of March. We will be serving for 6 months.

For those of you that do not know where Nauvoo Illoinis is located I've attached a small map.
Nauvoo is on the Mississippi River. Beginning in 1839 exiled Mormon settlers transformed a marshy wilderness tract along the Mississippi River into a model frontier community. Nauvoo the Beautiful. Only seven years later the Saints abandoned their flourshing city and fled westward, leaving behind a brief but dazzling history. Not only will we be proclaiming the gospel but we will also be living as if we were the pioneers of the 1840s. We will have the opportunity to dress in the era of the pioneers. We'll entertain the visitors with a play called 'Rendezvous' and 'Sunset on the Mississippi'. There will be places to visit shops to see and visit, learn how the pioneers lived in Nauvoo and turned a marshy wilderness into a model frontier community. Or if you can't come to visit then follow me on my blog, there's room for comments so write us!! We're off on a 6 month exciting experience.
